Holiday home de Duinroos is an ideal base for a long or short holiday on the coast. It is very centrally located and all important things can be reached on foot. The beach and the dunes are only 50 meters from the house and the village center with its shops and cozy restaurants is about a 5-minute walk away. We only rent to tourists, not to foreign employees. We do not rent to brokers too.

History ..
Egmond aan Zee has traditionally been a fishing village. Lighthouse Memorial J.C.J. van Speijk, with his striking white appearance, keeps a watchful eye over the sea and the village. This cozy seaside resort borders the North Holland dune reserve and is especially popular with people who love the beach, dunes and small scale.

Our summer house is named after the rose bush that you see everywhere. This plant is equally beautiful in all seasons. With brightly colored flowers and rose hips in beautiful colors.

There is also plenty to do in Egmond in the cultural-historical field. Such as the ruins and the Slotkapel in Egmond aan den Hoef and the Abbey in Egmond-Binnen. And don’t forget the bulb fields…

The Castle Quarter is the pearl in the heart of Egmond aan den Hoef with no fewer than six national monuments, including the Castle Chapel, Huys Egmont, Museumhoeve Overslot. Nice for a visit, tour or attending a concert in the Castle Chapel.

Egmond aan Zee is centrally located and most attractions and places can be reached within an hour. So if the weather is bad or if you have had enough of the beach and the dunes, you can make many trips in the immediate vicinity.

Alkmaar is the largest town in the immediate vicinity of Egmond aan Zee and is approximately 10 km away. distance. You can reach the city within 15 minutes by car, where there is plenty of parking. Alkmaar is known for the cheese market and the many old buildings.

In the dunes of Egmond aan Zee you can encounter Scottish highlanders and wild horses. Keep your distance when you walk past them, especially in the spring when there are young ones.
Amsterdam
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands with its many canals and beautiful sights, is about 40 km away. It can be reached in an hour by public transport (bus + train). Here you can visit many famous museums, zoo and many other attractions.

This neighborhood provides an excellent picture of the Zaan region in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Between the traditional wooden houses, warehouses and windmills at the Zaanse Schans you get the feeling of being back in times long gone. The Zaanse Schans is about 25 km away.
